The Renaissance Network is excited to announce the placement of Brett Costello as CEO for their client Exploros. Exploros is a high-impact EdTech SaaS platform dedicated to teacher-guided, real-time classroom learning. With a market-leading device-enabled learning platform for K-12 classrooms, Exploros operates two primary business lines: licensing its proprietary platform to major publishers and direct-to-district augmented curriculum sales.
As CEO at Exploros, Costello will lead the transition from an early-stage company to a high-revenue and profit enterprise by optimizing sales engines and operational efficiency. He will be tasked with building the commercial infrastructure of this SaaS-based EdTech innovator while partnering with a founder who has developed a world-class educational tool.
Costello is a private equity–seasoned executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience driving growth, transformation, and successful exits across K–12 and higher education organizations. He most recently served as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Government Affairs at BetterLesson, where he lead enterprise strategy and established strategic partnerships with the 100 largest school districts and top state education leaders in the US. Previously, he was Chief Business Development Officer at Education Elements, spearheading enterprise growth strategy, M&A activity, and cross-business integration. Before that, he served as CRO and COO at Scholarus Learning, where he scaled the business into a high revenue education platform and helped execute a successful private equity exit.
Costello began his career in progressive sales and leadership roles at ProQuest and then XanEdu, ultimately becoming Vice President of Sales, and later expanded into new market development leadership at Mango Languages. He is known for his transformational leadership style, disciplined execution, and ability to scale high-performing teams and revenue operations. He holds an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan.
